Nashville Predators vs Toronto Maple Leafs Picks and Predictions for Tuesday October 6 2026
The Nashville Predators visit the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET. Nashville enters after earning its first victory of the season with a 2-1 win over Dallas, while Toronto has had a shaky opening stretch that already includes losses to Montreal and Ottawa. Nashville Is Starting to Settle Down
The end of the preseason wasn’t pretty for Nashville. The Predators lost their final exhibition 6-0 to Carolina after also dropping a 6-5 decision to the Hurricanes two nights earlier, finishing the preseason 1-3-0. That made the opening portion of the regular season worth watching closely.
The response has been encouraging. Nashville lost 3-1 to Minnesota but came back Saturday and beat Dallas 2-1. After all the defensive problems late in the preseason, holding Dallas to one goal was exactly the type of performance the Predators needed.
Now Nashville has to prove it can take that game on the road. Toronto has too much offensive ability to give away easy chances, but the Maple Leafs haven’t exactly been humming themselves. If Nashville can keep the game at five-on-five and avoid chasing from behind, the Predators can make this uncomfortable.

Toronto Hasn’t Found Its Rhythm Yet
Toronto opened the season with a 3-2 home loss to Montreal, a result that ended a 10-game home-opening winning streak. The Maple Leafs then suffered another 3-2 defeat against Ottawa on Saturday.
That’s not a disastrous start, but it’s enough to make laying a substantial price with Toronto uncomfortable. The Maple Leafs have scored only four goals in those two losses, and Nashville just demonstrated that it can win a tight defensive game against Dallas.
Toronto still has the home-ice advantage and the offensive ceiling to break out at any point. But based on what we’ve actually seen so far, this looks more like a competitive game than a spot where Toronto should automatically be treated as a dominant favorite.
Nashville Predators vs Toronto Maple Leafs Picks and Predictions
Pick: Nashville Predators +1.5
Nashville +1.5 is my side pick. Toronto hasn’t done enough through its opening games to justify asking the Maple Leafs to win comfortably, while Nashville is coming directly off a 2-1 victory over Dallas. The Predators don’t necessarily need to win this game for the handicap to cash. They simply need to keep it close, and Toronto’s early offensive results suggest that’s realistic.
Pick: Under 6 Goals
The Under is the total pick. Nashville’s first two regular-season games have produced four and three total goals, while Toronto has scored two goals in each of its losses to Montreal and Ottawa. There is plenty of offensive talent here, but the actual early-season results point toward something tighter. I’ll trust what we’ve seen rather than what these teams are theoretically capable of producing.
Final Picks: Nashville Predators +1.5 and Under 6 Goals
