The Rangers aren’t going to need much motivation for this one. Watching the Islanders come into the Garden immediately after a six-goal victory should ensure New York’s attention is where it needs to be from the opening faceoff.
The biggest question is whether the Rangers can prevent the Islanders from carrying Saturday’s offensive rhythm into another game. New Jersey survived the first period before everything unraveled. The Rangers need to avoid the same type of stretch where one goal quickly becomes two or three.
This also feels like a matchup where home ice matters. The Islanders are coming off an emotional high, while the Rangers get the benefit of the Garden and an opportunity to dictate the matchups.

I’m taking the Islanders +1.5 rather than asking them to win outright at Madison Square Garden. Saturday’s 6-0 win over New Jersey was too impressive to ignore, particularly because the Islanders didn’t simply outscore the Devils — they shut them out despite facing 37 shots. Getting an extra goal with a team carrying that kind of confidence is more attractive than laying a price with the Rangers.
Pick: Under 6 Goals
The Under is the total pick. The Islanders just showed that they’re capable of completely shutting down an opponent, and I expect a considerably tighter game than Saturday’s final score suggests.
