Boston has opened 2-1, but the Bruins haven’t been as convincing as the record might suggest. They needed overtime to beat Winnipeg before losing 4-1 to Minnesota, showing some of the inconsistency that remains a concern early in the season.
Special teams have also been an issue. Boston opened the season without converting on its first six power-play opportunities, while the penalty kill also struggled. Those areas become particularly important against a Utah team capable of punishing mistakes.
The Bruins still have home ice and enough quality to win this matchup, but the market isn’t giving either side a massive advantage. That feels appropriate given what Utah has shown.
