New York Liberty vs Atlanta Dream Picks and Prediction for Wednesday October 7 2026
The New York Liberty visit the Atlanta Dream at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, for Game 2 of the WNBA semifinals. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET with coverage on ESPN. Atlanta leads the series 1-0 after winning Sunday's opener 92-82 and enters Game 2 on a five-game winning streak. New York is 26-18 overall and 12-10 on the road, while Atlanta is 30-14 overall and 15-7 at home. DraftKings lists the Dream as 2.5-point favorites at -112, with New York +2.5 at -108. The total is 170.5, with both the Over and Under at -110. Be sure to check out our free WNBA picks for more WNBA predictions throughout the playoffs.
New York Needs to Find an Answer for Atlanta
New York isn't simply trying to bounce back from one poor playoff result. Atlanta has become a genuine problem for the Liberty. Sunday's 92-82 defeat was New York's third consecutive loss to the Dream, following regular-season defeats of 83-65 and 95-84 in September. Atlanta has won those three meetings by a combined 39 points, so there is now a meaningful pattern rather than a single bad night.
The Liberty still bring excellent offensive numbers into Game 2. New York averages 89.6 points per game while shooting 46% from the field and producing 20.8 assists. The defensive numbers have also been strong overall, with opponents averaging 79.3 points. Those numbers make Sunday's 92 points allowed stand out even more.
New York has already shown that it can respond to adversity during these playoffs, but Wednesday requires something different. The Liberty need to slow an Atlanta team that has scored at least 92 points in four consecutive games. New York can't afford another game where Atlanta establishes the tempo and forces the Liberty to spend the second half trying to catch up.

Atlanta Continues to Roll
Atlanta couldn't be carrying much more momentum into Game 2. The Dream have won five straight, including three consecutive victories over New York. Their last four wins have come by scores of 95-84, 83-65, 92-77 and 93-75 before Sunday's 92-82 semifinal victory.
The season numbers support what we're seeing now. Atlanta averages 91.3 points per game while allowing only 78.0. The Dream produce 21.5 assists and 9.1 steals per game, and that ability to create additional possessions has helped them consistently put pressure on opponents.
The biggest question is availability, with Atlanta dealing with an important absence entering Game 2. Even so, the Dream have repeatedly handled New York recently and now get another game at State Farm Arena. The spread dropping from an opening Atlanta -4.5 to -2.5 makes the current number considerably more manageable.
New York Liberty vs Atlanta Dream Picks and Prediction
Pick: Atlanta Dream -2.5 (-112)
Atlanta -2.5 is the side pick. It's difficult to ignore three consecutive Dream victories over New York, particularly when none of them was decided by fewer than 10 points. Atlanta has also won five straight overall and owns advantages in scoring, points allowed, assists and steals. New York is certainly capable of making adjustments after Game 1, but asking Atlanta to win by three points at home is reasonable considering how consistently the Dream have controlled this matchup.
Pick: Over 170.5 (-110)
I'm taking the Over 170.5. Game 1 finished with 174 points, and Atlanta has scored at least 92 in four straight games. New York also averages 89.6 points per game and should be more aggressive offensively with the possibility of falling into a 2-0 series hole. The number has dropped from the opening 171.5, giving us a slightly better entry point. Another game reaching the upper 80s or low 90s for both teams puts this total in position to clear.
Final Picks: Atlanta Dream -2.5 (-112) and Over 170.5 (-110)
